Multi stage growth method
Nano sized metallic materials cause fusions in fluids due to the van der waals force until they grow to become micro sized particles. To suppress the growth, various macromolecules can be added to the fluid. Then nano particles can exist in stable forms of colloids. However, if they are to be distributed inside macromolecules then the high processing temperature(200 to 300) and the sheer force will disturb the stability and no nano particles can be distributed. To resolve the problem, nano particles are physically and chemically combined to slightly larger particles which are in turn synthesized to larger particles. This is called multi stage particle growth method. Using this method, silver antibacterial nanocomposites will contain only 40 to 50ppm of silver particles with excellent sterilization power.
Silver antibacterial nanocomposites
It refers to all types of composites made by using the multi stage growth method. At present, composites for extrusions, films and weaving are available. Since the basic technology is completed, it can be applied to various materials. Development of antibacterial nanocomposites for sealants, paint and reservoir coating epoxy is currently completed. In addition, they have successfully developed antibacterial pipes which will be applied to medical devices.
Development of active carbon nano non-woven fabric using electrical discharging
To improve the dust collection efficiency, it can be applied to cabin air filters of cars.
Decomposing/absorbing catalysts are added to absorb, store and decompose bad odors from a car¡¯s inner area. A project supported by the Ministry of Knowledge and Economy.
Manufacturing of nano-porous materials
Most of researches for nano technology is focused on manufacturing and coating nano particles. But recently new reports finds their another function by morphology. If you change the shapes of nano particles, then it can lead to manufacturing of porous materials which can be used for insulation, absorption, and storage. Silvix research institute is conducting a joint research with several researchers in universities, governmental research centers in the production of pilot nano-porous materials.
